Morning Star Lutheran Church has a wide variety of music at all services. From traditional hymns accompanied by our one-of-a-kind Pipe Organ to contemporary music with drums, guitar and piano, there is something for everyone!
The Morning Star Bell Choir plays once a month at the 8:30 AM Sunday service. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings at 7:30 PM. All are welcome to be a part of the choir. No experience or music reading needed. For more information, contact Bev McCollum at the office.
The Contemporary Choir adds special music as well as leads the congregation in songs virtually every week at the 10:30 AM Service.
The Choir sings three and four part anthems most weeks from September to May. The music styles are varied. Our Choir rehearses Thursday evenings at 6:30 PM and Sunday Mornings at 8 AM.
Worship at Morning Star
Morning Star has three Worship services grounded in our Lutheran Liturgy and faith practices. All of our services follow a Lutheran service order, which always includes a Gathering Time (with Confession & Forgiveness), Word (with readings from the Lectionary Calendar and the Pastor's sermon), Meal (with an offering and Communion served each week), and a Sending (with a blessing and dismissal).
Saturday ~ 5:30 p.m.
Held in our Chapel, the Saturday service is usually under an hour in length. This service feels much less formal, as there are no "organized" Acolytes or Communion Assistants. The Pastor asks people to assist as the service is getting ready to begin.
Sunday ~ 8:30 a.m.
A Traditional Liturgical service, this service is held in our Sanctuary and always involves traditional liturgy and classic hymns for the music. We also feature our one-of-a-kind Martin Ott Pipe Organ!
Sunday ~ 10:30 a.m.
This worship service has more modern musical arrangements and instruments as well as the Contemporary Choir assisting with leading all music in the service.
